Plenary Session III

Where next for better regulation and regulatory reform

This international and national session will present three different perspectives on future strategies of better regulation and regulatory reform. The OECD provides a setting where governments compare policy experiences, seek answers to common problems and identify good examples. The OECD’s regulatory reform program is aimed at helping governments to improve regulatory quality. The Confederation of Employers and Industries of Spain (CEOE), is the main Spanish business organization, representing all sectors of the country (agriculture, industry and services). The CEOE accounts for regional and sectoral organizations. Better regulation is an important question for all their member companies. The Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs (OIRA), within the Office of Management and Budget, was created by the U.S. Congress. OIRA develops and oversees several critical functions, including the implementation of government-wide policies and standards with respect to Federal regulations and guidance documents.
